Principal's Corner.....

Dear Wolf Pack Family,

Can it really be May already? It’s hard to believe that we have already starting planning for and even completing some of the exciting activities that surround the closing of the school year! As I have said before, “time flies when you are having fun”! We truly do have a wonderful school and district with so much to be thankful for.

It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to several WKHS staff members who will be retiring or resigning at the conclusion of the school year. We say “Best Wishes”, but never “Good-Bye” to Mrs. Kay Warren, Mrs. Mary Lou Himmell, Mr. Sean Cooke, Dr. Rich Littell, Mrs. Wendy Thompson, Mr. Phil Day, Mr. Andy Clark, and Mrs. Barb Beck.

These retirements and resignations will leave an enormous hole in Worthington Kilbourne High School, both in their respective classrooms and our entire school. These fine educators have been influential in the building and are adored and respected by students, colleagues and community members. Their leadership, passion, and dedication to our students and entire school community will be missed. We wish each one of these teachers the best of luck in their retirement and hope they will visit us often!

It has been a great 2011-2012 school year and an experience that I am sure none of us will ever forget. Our students have achieved at unprecedented levels throughout the year. Our bond with our parents and our community continues to grow and I am so excited to get the 2012- 2013 school year started (especially after having one year at WKHS “under my belt”). Before that happens, though, let’s all join together to make sure that the current year concludes smoothly. Final exams are a critical week and it is essential that all students take them seriously and prepare in earnest to be successful.

I’d also like to thank our Senior Class for setting the bar high and “leaving a legacy” for our underclassmen to follow. I appreciate your openness to accept and welcome me as your new building principal for the last year of your high school career. You will be missed, but never forgotten. Thank you for all that you have done to create such a special place at Worthington Kilbourne High School. I know I speak for the entire staff at WKHS when I say it is an honor and a pleasure to work in such an amazing community that supports its students and teachers sowell. Have a safe and restful summer and we will see
you again in August!

“Dream Big!” & GO WOLVES!!!
