The Six Pillars of Character
Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, Citizenship
Each month, we will be focusing on a different character trait. Students who demonstrate the trait of the month can be nominated by teachers and selected as Citizen of the Month. Students selected will receive recognition.
Character Trait for October: TRUSTWORTHINESS
What does it mean to be Trustworthy?
Trustworthy people are honest and loyal. They are reliable and do what they say they are going to do. They have the courage to do the right thing, especially when the right thing is hard to do.
Character Trait for November: RESPECT
What does it mean to be Respectful?
Respectful people follow the Golden Rule and are considerate of the feelings of others. They are tolerant and accepting of differences. Respectful people deal with anger, insults and disagreements peacefully as they never threaten to hit or hurt anyone. Good manners are practiced, no bad language is never used.
Character Trait for JANUARY: RESPONSIBILITY
What does it mean to be Responsible?
People that are responsible plan ahead and do what they are supposed to be doing. They always do their best and preserve. Responsible people are self disciplines and think before they act by considering their consequences. If you want to be responsible be accountable for your words, actions and attitudes as you set a good example for other.
Character Trait for FEBRUARY: FAIRNESS
What does it mean to be Fair?
People that are being fair play by the rules. They take share and take turns. Being fair is being open-minded and having the ability to listen to others. They do not take advantage of others or blame others carelessly. They treat all people fairly.
Character Trait for MARCH: CARING
What does it mean to Care?
Caring people are kind and compassionate to others. They express gratitude and forgive others. Caring people help other in need.
