• Services available as needed:

    • Provides necessary support and resources, free of charge, to families of children with disabilities and the professionals that serve them
    • Promotes necessary and effective communication by providing information and support to families about special education issues and by providing a mechanism to convey the family perspective back to the district  
    • Builds knowledge and awareness of parents, administrators and teachers to strengthen relationships and build effective partnerships and teams
    • Guides families through the special education process and develop understanding of their rights and responsibilities
    • Attends school staff meetings, participate in training and serve committees
    • Promotes parent support group within district, as well as help parents find and access community resources
    • Organizes and conducts training on topics of interest to families
    • Attends meetings (for example: Individual Educational Program (IEP), Multi-Factored Evaluation (MFE), Intervention Assistance Team (IAT), Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA), disciplinary, etc.)
