    Worthington City School’s Parent Mentor Program is aligned with the Ohio Parent Mentor Project to provide support and resources to families of children with disabilities as well as the professionals who serve them.

    Parent Mentor Role

    A parent mentor is a parent of a child with disabilities who has knowledge about special education issues and experience obtaining services.  In addition, parent mentors ensure that the district receives perspective and input from families.  All parent mentor services are free of charge.

    Our Goal

    Parent Mentors ensure that the district receives perspective and input from families. The goal of the program is to empower parents to become effective partners in the education of their children by encouraging strong parent/professional partnerships.  A Parent Mentor is a parent who has a child with special needs and has experience obtaining services for students.
