Once the letter of notification is received by the district, within 14 calendar days the home education plan is reviewed to make sure that all requirements of state law are met.  If required information is missing, a letter requesting additional information is  sent.  The district will NOT request information not listed in OAC 3301-34.

If the home education plan meets requirements of state law, the superintendent  responds with a letter including:

• A statement that the home education plan complies with Ohio law
• A statement that the child is excused from public school attendance
• Must be signed by the superintendent
