  • As a student entering ninth grade on or after July 1, 2019, Ohio’s new high school graduation requirements give you more flexibility to choose a graduation pathway that builds on your strengths and passions – one that ensures you are ready for your next steps and excited about the future.

Step 1 - Cover the Basics (20 Credits)

    • 4 Units of Mathematics
    • 3 Units of Social Studies
    • 5 Units of Electives
    • 1 Unit of Health & Physical Education
    • 3 Units of Science
    • 4 Units of English Language Arts

Step 2 - Show Competency (Use one of the following options)

  • Earn a Competency Score

  • College Credit Plus

  • Industry Credential

  • Military Readiness

Starting in 2023, you'll also have to earn TWO Seals (with one from state)

  • Ohio Means Jobs State Seal

  • Science State Seal

  • Military Enlistment State Seal

  • Bilteracy State Seal

  • Citizenship State Seal

  • Industry-Recognized Credential State Seal

  • College Ready State Seal

  • Technology State Seal

  • Honors Diploma State Seal

  • Fine and Performing Arts Local Seal

  • Community Service Local Seal

  • Student Engagement Local Seal
