Thomas Worthington Field House
-
The replacement of the TWHS Field House was funded through the 2018 bond issue which was part of Phase 1 of our Master Facilities Plan. However, construction was delayed to limit disruption and to be certain that the location would fit within our updated master plan for the TWHS site. The current outdoor locker room facility was constructed in 1968. While it has served our district well, the facility has experienced routine leaking, system failures and it no longer meets our expanded needs with both male and female varsity sports.
The new facility will replace the existing 9,560 sq ft building with an 11,225 sq ft building that incorporates the concession stand and provides a team room for film study and/or meetings. This facility should be completed by August 1 of 2023 and will contain 4 locker rooms, public family restrooms on both the first and second floor, and a large plaza area for public gatherings and team activities.

The field house is going vertical. The concrete contractor poured the slab on grade and South retaining wall. The plumber and electrician started in wall rough-in to stay ahead of the mason. The mason started laying block at their load bearing walls on the lower level for both interior and exterior walls. The first Hi-R Block delivery also arrived onsite. Outside of the building footprint, the electrician started trenching the duct bank and AEP started replacing the poles by the bleachers.
