Maddox Named Assistant Superintendent
With the departure in early June of Assistant Superintendent Randy Banks to South-Western City Schools, we had an important opening in our school district.
I am excited to share that the Board of Education approved Jeff Maddox as our new Assistant Superintendent at their June 24th meeting. Jeff’s roots in Worthington, spanning from his student days through his impressive professional journey within our district, make him the right candidate. His history includes attending Wilson Hill, Worthingway, and Worthington High School; coaching for Worthington Youth Boosters; serving as Dean of Students at Thomas Worthington High School; Principal at Perry Middle School; and creator of Phoenix Middle School in collaboration with some amazing teachers. His leadership roles have further extended to Interim Principal at the United Methodist Children’s Home and Director of Innovation and School Support where he was in charge of school safety, nurses, and the Welcome Center.
While in this role he also collaborated with another team of amazing teachers and administrators to create Worthington Academy. For the past nine years, Jeff has been the Director of Certified Personnel and Human Resources. Jeff is highly respected, a team player, and deeply invested in our community.
Jeff’s done most everything in Worthington Schools as a student and an administrator. I’m excited to see him in this new role!
