Amber Epling Skinner

Amber Epling-Skinner is a proud Worthington Schools parent, former PTA president, community volunteer and experienced public employee who believes deeply in the power of education to change lives. She and her family chose this district for its strong public schools, dedicated educators and commitment to giving every child the opportunity to succeed. She began serving on the Worthington Board of Education in January 2024.

Professionally, Amber brings more than 20 years of strategic communications experience to the Board. As a former senior legislative staffer in the Ohio House of Representatives, she possesses firsthand insight into the inner workings of Cap Square. She understands how policy moves through the state legislative process and how to advocate effectively for students, teachers and families.

Her broader work with state/local government, nonprofits and higher education shapes her understanding of public finance, taxation, community relations, workforce development and the connection between strong K-12 schools and the development of informed, engaged citizens. She knows that school board decisions today can influence not only academic outcomes, but also the futures students will build and the communities they will someday shape. Amber approaches this responsibility with thoughtfulness, heart, curiosity and an unwavering commitment to serve with integrity.

Amber is a familiar face at various school events cheering on her own children and other Worthington students. Originally from Southeastern Ohio, she lives in Columbus with her husband, Brian. Together, they share seven children — three daughters attending Worthington Schools, a son in preschool and three adult sons.
