Construction Updates

Expected completion date for TWHS is Summer 2026Phase 1 - Construction of Phase 1 (Academic Area) was completed for the start of the 2024-2025 school year.

Phase 2  - The work on Phase 2 (Student Dining and Administration Offices) began in May 2024 and was completed in November 2025.  

Phase 3 - Construction for part of Phase 3 (Art/Music Area/Auditorium) has started and is projected to be completed in February 2026.  Construction of new baseball/softball fields has started.  Renovation of the Main Gym began in May 2025 and is projected to be completed by by the end of September.  Renovation of the Auxiliary Gym is projected to be completed by Summer 2026.

Expected completion date for WKHS is the beginning of  2026

Work on classrooms on the second floor of Worthington Kilbourne High School has been completed.

A new hallway and student commons area is being added to the high school building. Music spaces, student commons, and the gymnasium have been re-open. Work is still being done on the outdoor eating area, library and auditorium.

Construction is to be projected to be completed in January 2026.

The new Natatorium was open to swimmers at the beginning of September 2025

The demolition of the old natatorium and addition of a new parking lot will be complete by the end of the year.

At the end of the 2024-2025 school year, a district administrator visited PTA meetings at each elementary school to update parents on the upcoming Phase 3 process.

The meetings included discussion on possible factors for the third community task force to consider. 

Two of these factors are enrollment and condition. The district received updated enrollment projections in 2024 and has contacted an architect to reassess the elementary facilities after the first of the year.
