Integrated Pest Management

The district uses an effective and environmentally sensitive approach to pest management that relies on a combination of common-sense practices to control insects and other pests.  

Integrated Pest Management (IPM) reduces the blanket use of pesticides and promotes a proactive approach to the elimination of pests through inspection, monitoring, reduction of insect entry points, use of baits and traps, and increased cultural and sanitation practices.

All staff are encouraged to submit a work order at the first sighting of insects or pests.  

The district pest control vendor will investigate and recommend a course of action using the IPM program practices.
