SWACO School Recycling Champions!

Bluffsview Recycling and SWACO

Bluffsview Elementary School is leading the charge for a greener future as one of SWACO's School Recycling Champions!

Fourth grade teachers Ms. McElroy and Ms. Zilner worked with SWACO to launch a student-led Green Team. With new recycling containers, hands-on education and school-wide engagement, these young champions are making a big impact.

The Worthington School District will continue to expand the partnership with the Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio in the SWACO Recycling Champions Program.

The program is designed to help schools build a successful, sustainable, comprehensive program, adopt recycling best practices, and educate staff and students with educational resources.

Planning is underway with the release of the program soon beginning with all middle school sites.

Current Programs

The Worthington School District has a district-wide mixed recycling program.

Recyclables are collected from classroom and auxiliary area recycling bins and placed in clear plastic bags.

The bags are disposed in a recycling dumpster provided by Republic Waste.
