Announcements for October 26

Congratulations to our Boys Cross Country Team placing 2nd in the OHSAA State Championship Race.  Team Members-Mulu Ferguson-6, Everett Strange-8, Dean Poppy-9, CJ Miller-14, and Dylan Crowley-43.  Great team effort; also like to Congratulate Alaina Smullen, she placed 4th in the state girls meet.

Important Shuttle Information for Athletes during Hybrid Learning:  Students who are in school will be shuttled to site for practices and/or events. Parents please pick up at the site of the practice or event.  We will continue to use same plan for students who are home doing remote during Hybrid Learning. 

Winter Sports Video is Uploaded on the Athletic Web-Site; encourage you to watch sometime during this week, if you have any questions please contact Mr. Mosca or Mrs. Swearengen at Worthingway.  We are working on plan to do weekly video to provide another place to access information for activities.

Please check athletic web-site for updated winter sport information. Basketball is pretty firm; 8th GRade Winter Cheer team informational flyer is on the stand just outside the main office  Wrestling waiting for OHSAA decision on moving forward with wrestling. 

Please be signed up for Basketball on Final Forms by October 26 and Wrestling by November 2.

Please enter the school through door number 1, the front of the school if you are attending any activity at Worthingway.  Please make sure students are prepared for the 4 co-vid screening questions, bring plenty of their own water and have a mask.

Winter Sports Forms: The Worthington Athletic Departments have partnered with Final Forms, an on-line program which will enable you and your student to complete & file MOST athlete forms electronically. Please click on the Athletic Forms icon on the Worthingway Athletic Page to access the new Final Forms Guide.  Your Emergency Card must be filled out for your child to participate in open gyms A 2020/2021 Physical Form must be completed and turned into your home school office by the first day of try-outs/practice; if you attend Phoenix Middle School the form should be turned into the middle school you would have attended if you did not go to Phoenix.  This form can be found on OHSAA Web-Site.

The Participation Fee must be paid before the first regular season contest unless you have contacted Mr. Brunswick at KMS or Mr. Mosca at WWAY to discuss a payment plan.

Spectator Agreement Form: Sharing as an FYI The following requirements and guidelines for spectators attending Worthington City Schools athletic contests are in accordance with the Ohio Department of Health orders and the Ohio Capital Conference.

  • Spectators are not permitted to attend an event if exhibiting any symptoms of Covid 19 including but not limited to: Fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, sudden change in taste or smell, muscle aches or pains, or had close contact with someone who has COVID19.
  • Tickets are required for all spectators and are only available for purchase online
  • Only close family members may purchase a ticket to athletic events
  • Student sections are not permitted
  • Households are required to sit together in the venue
  • Spectators are required to wear a mask at all times, unless they meet a specifically outlined exemption by the Ohio Department of Health
  • Spectators are required to remain socially distanced throughout the event
  • Congregation before, during, and after the contest is not permitted
  • Tickets are non-refundable unless canceled due to Covid19.
  • Outside food and beverages, pets (including dogs), and backpacks are not permitted
  • Worthington City Schools are smoke/tobacco free
