The Worthington Board of Education has approved the hiring of Toya Spencer to serve as the new Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for the district.
This position will provide leadership to launch a comprehensive initiative to ensure that all members of the Worthington school community are included and will work to improve quality of life, and enhance cultural sensitivity among staff members.
Spencer has more than 20 years of experience in assisting large organizations training staff, delivering culturally-responsive programs and ultimately transforming corporate culture. She spent a significant amount of time with Abercrombie & Fitch where she created innovative solutions to strengthen diversity, inclusion, and cultural competencies across the organization.
Spencer has a Master of Arts in Corporation Communication from Duquesne University and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Kent State University.
