TWHS PTSO Bylaws (updated for 2018-19)

PTSO Standing Committees  

·         This committee is responsible for generating memberships for our organization

·         PTSO will need a committee chair to organize this standing committee

·         Members of this committee will create membership drive opportunities

·         Members of this committee will attend various school functions for membership drives

·         Members of this committee will keep accurate records of all memberships and provide information to the PTSO officers for approval 

·         This committee is responsible for coming up with fundraising ideas for the PTSO (other than spirit wear). 

·         PTSO will need a committee chair to organize this standing committee

·         Members of this committee will meet in the summer or early fall to develop ideas and plans for the PTSO fundraisers for the year with the goal of raising money for student scholarships, teacher grants and student activities.

·         All fundraising plans will be presented to the PTSO officers for approval before moving forward

·         This committee is responsible for developing, marketing and reviewing the PTSO scholarship applications.  This committee also selects the recipients for the scholarships.  The scholarships are presented to TWHS seniors in May

·         PTSO will need a committee chair to organize this standing committee

·         Members of this committee will usually begin to meet in the late winter to review and revise the scholarship application as necessary and develop the plan for marketing the application to the TWHS seniors

·         Members of this committee will review all of the applications and choose the recipients

·         Parents of a TWHS senior applying for a PTSO scholarship are not permitted to be a part of the selection process

·         All scholarship plans will be presented to the PTSO officers for approval before moving forward

Teacher Grants

·         This committee is responsible for awarding the annual PTSO teacher grants in September.

·         PTSO will need a committee chair to organize this standing committee

·         Members of this committee will review and revise the PTSO Teacher Grant application as necessary

·         Members of this committee will review all of the submitted applications and work within a budget to select the grant applications to award

·         All selected teacher grant applications will be presented to the PTSO officers for approval before moving forward
