Volunteer Opportunities
Ready For Reading!
Worthington School's Ready For Reading is an intervention program that focuses on building reading skills for kindergarten students with the assistance of community volunteers.
Even if you only have 30 minutes a week, our kindergarten students would love to welcome you! Our hope is to make working with our kindergarten students enjoyable and meaningful. Read below for more information and use this form to register. Following registration, a program coordinator from our school will be in touch with more information.
A volunteer training session will be held on October 13th at 6:30 p.m. at the Worthington Education Center at 200 East Wilson Bridge Road.

Leadership Worthington Student Mentor Program Kicks Off 8th Year
The Leadership Worthington Student Mentor Program, sponsored by the Worthington Chamber of Commerce and funded by FC Bank, is looking for caring individuals who are willing to spend an hour a week with a Worthington Schools middle or high school student as a mentor.
The focus of the program is to to develop a relationship with the student and support them in goal setting, decision-making and to manage life’s challenges. The attached video gives you a great overview of what the program looks like and entails.
The students are chosen by the school and mentors are matched based on the information provided in the application.
The requirements are few. We need caring compassionate adults who:
- can give one hour a week;
- can listen without judgement;
- will participate in a background check;
- and, who will be reliable and dependable.
