Diabetes Information

Diabetes Mellitus is a metabolic disease which the body is unable to regulate sugar levels due to the insufficiency or lack of insulin production by the pancreas. Students who are affected by Diabetes require specific intervention during school hours.

The school nurse will collaborate with families and physicians to develop an individual diabetic management plan for students based on specific health needs and age appropriate interventions.
