Seizure Disorder Information
A seizure disorder, or epilepsy, is a chronic neurological disorder characterized by a tendency to have recurrent seizures. A seizure can cause excessive discharge of electrical activity in the brain that alters one or more of the following: movement; sensation; behavior, and awareness.
Students who have a seizure disorder may have needs during the school day. It is important to discuss with the school nurse who will develop a health plan to address individual needs.
